DID you recognise the whereabouts of lastweek’s picture in our Down Memory Lane Series?

The picture was of Sutton Road in 1921, looking towards the entrance gate for the Victory Sports Ground. The building on the left is the old workhouse.

It is taken from Ian Yearsley’s book ‘A History of Southend. The book is available from all good bookshops priced £15.99.
